VIT'ALL+ GABA. 750mg Food Supplements 60 tablets Net weight : to come
GABA or gamma aminobutyric acid is a relaxing brain neurotransmitter essential for mood balance.
Through its action in the brain, GABA naturally promotes calm and relaxation, reduces muscle tone and slows the heart rate. It is a neuromediator present in certain nerve cells in the grey matter of the brain. GABA is synthesised by the body from glutamic acid, under the influence of glutamic acid decarboxylase (GAD) using vitamin B6 as a cofactor, in the presence of vitamin C. Stored in the granules of presynaptic terminals and released into the synaptic cleft, it acts on specific GABA-A and GABA-B receptors located on the post-synaptic fibre. Some of the released GABA is recaptured by the neuronal presynaptic terminals. GABA appears to be involved in certain stages of memory storage
GABA is also an inhibitory neurotransmitter, meaning that it slows down the transmission of nerve signals. Along with glutamine, GABA is one of the brain's major neurotransmitters. GABA is a sedative, so benzodiazepines, the tranquillising drugs, act by binding to GABA receptors, modulating its action.
Glutamine is an exciter, providing dynamic, efficient modulation of brain activity

More details
Why is GABA useful for mood balance?
GABA, or gamma-aminobutyric acid, is a neurotransmitter naturally present in the brain, influencing the regulation of mood and anxiety. Its main function is to act as an inhibitory modulator in the central nervous system, which means it helps to reduce neuronal excitability and maintain neurological balance. This action of GABA is important for mood balance and stress management. When GABA binds to its receptors in the brain, it causes a reduction in neuronal activity. This reduction in nerve activity helps to control stress, anxiety and fear, contributing to a feeling of calm and relaxation. In other words, GABA acts as a natural brake on an often over-stimulated brain, helping to restore a state of balance and Serenity.
An imbalance or deficiency of GABA can lead to a variety of mood-related problems, such as anxiety, insomnia, depression and even certain neurological disorders. Therefore, maintaining adequate levels of GABA is necessary for mental and emotional health. Studies have shown that certain practices such as meditation, physical exercise and a balanced diet can naturally increase GABA levels in the brain. In addition, there are food supplements that can help support GABA production, although it is always advisable to consult a healthcare professional before starting any supplementation, especially if you are taking medication or have existing medical conditions.
