Urgo Rechargeable Electrotherapy Patch Refill

Instructions for use :

PREPARING THE ADHESIVE GEL REFILL

• Open the sachet and take a refill of Gel adhesive.
• Carefully remove the blue protective film, making sure that the 2 parts of the adhesive gel remain firmly in place on the transparent protective film.
• If necessary, you can hold the gel in place with your finger.
• Keep the blue protective film to replace it on the patch after each use.

PREPARING THE PATCH

• Using the transparent protective film, position the 2 parts of the Gel correctly on the patch, making sure they are perfectly superimposed on the 2 parts of the electrical circuit.
• Then remove the transparent protection film, making sure that the gels remain on the patch (hold the gel with your finger if necessary).
• 1 adhesive gel = approximately 30 uses.

APPLYING AND STARTING UP THE PATCH

For the first use, we advise you to apply the patch to an area within the field of vision (arm, for example) just long enough to test and understand how the patch works. You can then place it on the painful area.

Apply the patch to the painful area and briefly press the (power) button:

• 1 beep sounds and 1 green light comes on. You are in programme 1.
• If you do not see a green light or hear a beep, the patch is completely discharged. Recharge the patch using the cable supplied.

PROGRAMME SELECTION

• This patch contains 5 programmes. Each programme lasts 30 minutes. For Plus details, please refer to the full manual.
• By default, programme 1 is selected automatically when the patch is switched on: this programme is recommended as the first line of defence.
• To change programme, press and hold the "+" button (approx. 3 seconds, until you hear a series of beeps): 2 beeps indicate that programme 2 has been selected. Release the button. Press and hold the button again to switch to programme 3: 3 beeps. And so on through to programme 5: 5 beeps.
• To start stimulation, go to the next step.

STARTING STIMULATION AND ADJUSTING INTENSITY

• Once you have selected your programme, briefly press the "+" button once to start the stimulation.
• Adjust the intensity by briefly pressing the "+" and "-" buttons.
• If the sensation is painful, reduce the intensity.
• there are 15 intensity levels available.

PATCH OFF

• The device switches off automatically after 30 minutes.
• If you wish to switch off the device before the 30 minutes have elapsed, briefly press the (power) button: 3 beeps and 3 light signals indicate that the device is switched off.

STORING THE PATCH

• Before removing the patch, make sure it is switched off. Then gently remove the patch, making sure that the gels remain on the electrical circuit (hold the gel with your finger if necessary).
• Leave the gels in place on the patch and cover them with the blue protective film. Your patch is now ready for future use. Store the patch in the carrying case.
• For future use, remove the blue protection film and go straight to step 3.

NOTE: when your patch no longer adheres sufficiently to the skin, you will need to moisten the gels to extend their life, as recommended in the instructions.

Precautions for use :

• Do not use this device while driving (cars, machinery, etc.), or in activities where electrical stimulation or involuntary muscle contraction could be dangerous.
• Do not use this device while you are asleep, as there is a risk of pain, inflammation or burns if the intensity is set too high and you are not able to control it due to a lack of vigilance.
• Do not use this appliance in areas where there are staples, implants or any metal parts, as this could cause burns or Pains.
• Do not use this appliance in a high humidity area such as a bathroom or when you are in the bath or shower.
• For reasons of Hygiene, do not share the use of adhesive gels with other people.
• Keep out of the reach and sight of Children: they must not play with the device.

Do not use the patch on the following areas:

• Do not apply near the heart or on the chest as the electrical signals may interfere with the heart's electrical signals.
• Do not apply in front of or to the sides of the neck (carotid artery, throat) as electrostimulation could trigger laryngeal and pharyngeal spasms leading to Breathing problems. Stimulation of the carotid artery may cause a slowing of the heart rate or unusually low blood pressure in people with blood vessel problems.
• This patch is not intended for application to the head.
• Do not use on the genitals.

Medical contraindications:

• If you wear an implanted device (pacemaker, insulin pump, blood glucose meter, implanted defibrillator, etc.), as the electrotherapy patch may interfere with the operation of these devices.
• If you have skin lesions (irritated skin, rash, Post-operational wound, recent scar, presence of staples, traumatic wound, venous or arterial ulcer, diabetic wound, burns, etc.), do not apply to the areas concerned as electrostimulation could aggravate skin irritation or disrupt healing.
• If you have severe venous insufficiency (varicose veins, phlebitis, thrombophlebitis, varicose ulcers) or arterial thrombosis, do not apply to the areas concerned , as electrostimulation could aggravate skin irritation and disturb healing.
• If you have skin sensitivity problems (as in the case of certain diabetic patients and the elderly), do not apply to the areas concerned to avoid the risk of burns from setting the intensity too high, which you would not be able to control due to a lack of sensitivity.
• If you have cancer, do not apply to or near cancerous or infected lesions , as the current produced may encourage cancerous cells to spread to other parts of the Body.
• If you are pregnant, do not apply to the abdomen , as electrostimulation could trigger premature contractions. For application to the back , ask your doctor for advice.
• If you suffer from epilepsy, do not apply to the head, neck or shoulders , as electrostimulation could trigger epileptic seizures.

Before using the device, consult your doctor:

• In the event of epilepsy or suspected epilepsy, as electrostimulation could encourage the onset of epileptic seizures.
• In the event of undiagnosed traumatic Pains (e.g. sprains, tendonitis, strains, etc.) to ensure that treatment other than pain is not necessary.
• If there is a risk of internal haemorrhage following an injury or fracture, as electrotherapy has an effect on the circulatory system.
• If you have heart problems, as the electrical signals can interfere with the heart's other signals
• If you have a fever over 39°C, which can affect your alertness
• If you are pregnant, as a precaution
• If you are wearing an IUD and want to apply the patch to your stomach
