Since 1964, the brand dedicated to the health and beauty of the hair has offered everyone adapted routines bacically divided  in 4 steps: pre-shampoos, shampoos, rinse out conditioner (or no rinse conditioner) and styling conditioners. Phyto gives the style to the public with a scientific approach coupled with a hairdresser know how.

The Phyto brand was launched by  Patrick Alès, a hairdresser of great vision who thought in the 1960's of developing hair cares based on plants and natural ingredients . He discovered the plants assets during a stay in Provence and back home, face with the chemical hair products on the market at the time, he decided to develop innovative cares for hair and the relief of the hands of the juniors doing the shampooing in the hair salon.

And so Phytotherapy was born in 1967. Hair plant cares. Since, the brand has been developing a wide range of products for all types of hair. In 1998, the Phyto Specific range, for curly and frizzy hair was launched. It is one of the first ethnic hair ranges distributed on the market. For more than 50 years, the Phyto brand has been offering always more innovative products aimed at  taking care of the beauty of the hair with natural ingredients. For instance, Phyto has developed the hair day cream or hair spray laque without propelling gas.

Plant assets at the heart of the formulas

Patrick Alès has owned his own research laboratory, Phytosolba, since 1969 and studied the plants assets and benefits to adapt the composition of the formulas and manufacture  new herbal products . The brand collaborates with the National Center for Scientific Research and also several major Parisian hospitals. Several scientific teams are nowadays involved in the Phyto research and formulation. All the Phyto products are sold in pharmacies and parapharmacies.

The brand develops its own formulas and methods of extractions . The brand has developed its own extraction method. It extracts the best assets of the plants and optimises their potential: leaves, roots, barks, buds, etc. All the Phyto products are silicone, paraben or sulphate free. They are clinically tested. Phyto favours aluminum or glass packagings for a better preservation. 

The phyto ritual 

The Phyto hair ritual consists of 4 steps. From root to tip, everything is taken into account! The goal is to respect the capillary ecosystem and the nature of the hair. Two unique expertises come into play: the scientific knowledge of plants and the professional knowl how of a hairdresser. Before shampoo conditioning is the first step. The scalp has to be purified and the hair lengths moisturised. Shampoing is the second step. After washing and wringing, a care that allows hair to be deeply hydrated should be applied. Favour a mask or a balm and leave for about 5 minutes for a hair full of vitality. In addition to this routine, a no rinse conditioner can be used on wet or dry hair. It also hydrates lengths and ends. Last but not least, hair should be protected on a daily basis then styled.

Curly, frizzy and nappy hair usually tends to be drier than other types of hair. It needs efficient nourishing cares .
